Crea Tower Zug

The 40 m-high CreaTower I sets new standards for resource-efficient construction: arched precast concrete floor slabs, flexible office layouts and a CO₂-reduced structural system define the innovative structural concept.

1st prize in competition

Above ground, the 40 m-high CreaTower I has a footprint of 35 × 25 m. In a first phase, the two basement levels cover around 65 × 55 m and are designed for a later extension with CreaTower II. The upper floors provide flexibly usable office space, with additional restaurant space on the ground floor. Plant rooms are largely located in the basement levels; the remaining areas are used as an underground car park.

The structural system follows the principle of reducing material use and CO₂. Prefabricated, arched floor elements made of unreinforced concrete span typical bays of 6.13 × 6.13 m with a rise of around 50 cm. The floor elements bear at the four corners on prefabricated reinforced-concrete columns. Prestressed prefabricated beams form a stable frame structure within which individual floor fields can be removed or added flexibly. Acoustic panels are integrated into the exposed rib structure of the floor elements. The basement levels are constructed as a reinforced-concrete skeleton structure with pile foundations.
